Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word

Well, Elton John definitely was given that right. "Sorry" appears to be the toughest word for many people. In truth, it seems extra hard in a few parts of the arena than others. It's something that has afflicted me for the longest time. So an awful lot so, particularly lately, that I must place pen to paper - or palms to keyboard - and write this rant (aka blog publish).

Ever because I've lived here, I've always struggled with the manner such a lot of human beings have a problem pronouncing "Sorry". Here are a few examples that I've encountered just recently:

1. In a café

Me: Can I get a brand new glass, please? This one is dirty.

Waitress: I'll get you a new one.

(or worse still, not anything in any respect, but he just changed the glass)

2. In an eating place

Me I'd just like the salmon, please.

Waiter: There's no extra salmon today.

Three. In a shoe save

Me: Do you've got these shoes in a length 41?

Assistant: Size 39 is the biggest.

Why can't they are saying, "I'm sorry... "?

This is the question I've puzzled about so oftentimes. I'm consistently instructed it is due to the fact the individual believes that saying "sorry" suggests they've in my opinion done some thing incorrect.

Can we please get this right!

Saying, "I'm sorry" while my glass is dirty is the proper aspect to say. What you are announcing is, "I'm sorry this happened." Or "I'm sorry you acquire a grimy glass." You are not saying, "I'm sorry that I didn't wash the glass nicely, and it is my fault."
